Looking to feel inspired as we take on the second half of the school year? I am so excited to start having current school counselors on the podcast more often so you can hear what they are implementing at their schools. Jessica Weinberg Zeff is joining us today to talk about her role as a 3rd year school counselor and what it’s like being an IMPACT member.

I absolutely love hearing about what counselors are doing in their schools, what they’ve found works for them, and of course, any advice they have for other counselors. I am so grateful Jessica is joining us to chat about her counseling program and give us a glimpse into her days. We are chatting about what her plans are for second semester, how she’s reaching students in all three tiers even with a big caseload, what she focuses on that has had a huge impact on her program, and advice she would give first year counselors.

Jessica grew up in Aurora, Colorado. She received her B.S in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in 2009. She worked as a preschool teacher until relocating to California in 2016. She spent a few years as a Special Education Instructional Aide before deciding to pursue graduate school. She received her M.Ed in School Counseling from University of Southern California in 2019. She has been an elementary school counselor since January 2020. She currently lives in California with her husband and cat, Maui. In her free time she likes to read spend time with friends and family.
