Here are five classroom-friendly SEL tools that help reduce dysregulation and support students in returning to a learning-ready state. Each option is practical for teachers and easy for counselors to provide.
1. Calm Corners
Creating a classroom calm corner is one of the simplest and most effective ways to support student regulation. This designated safe space gives students a quiet place to breathe, refocus, and work through emotions before rejoining the whole group.
A calm corner may include:
- visual breathing cards
- feelings charts
