I’m pretty sure every school counselor has a vision of how they want their office to be decorated. Whether it’s the organization or decorations, there is nothing quite like the moment you have your first job after graduating. That is why I was pretty surprised when I found out my first office was going to be shared with the school psychologist.

There are pros and cons to having a shared office and luckily I ended up gaining a great friend and partner for multiple projects. Over the years I have also learned some tips and tricks for saving money while meeting the needs of my students. This episode will help you determine what is necessary and what you should avoid when you are preparing for your space in the fall!

Some topics covered in this episode are:

  • 3 Questions you may have in your first year

  • Office areas you don’t want to forget

  • How to decorate your office without breaking the bank

  • 4 “don’ts” to buy

  • Different curriculums to consider
