Listen to the full episode below:

All month we've been talking about anxiety, and today I'm going to talk specifically about how you can help students with anxiety through an anxiety small group. If you missed the last 2 episodes, be sure to check out episode 80 where I did crash course on anxiety, and episode 81 where I shared strategies for class counseling for anxiety.

Small group counseling is a great place for students to practice using the strategies they’re learning and identify situations when they may need to tap into those strategies. In this episode, I’ll give you 4 ideas you can use with an anxiety group. Let me know if you try out some of the strategies I’ve shared. Share a picture and tag me on Instagram @brightfuturescounseling. I’d love to see them in action!

Don’t forget to share your counseling stories with me! Just upload a quick audio clip to this Google form. Don’t stress about the audio quality, just record directly into your phone. Tell me something fun or interesting or meaningful that happened to you during your workday, or simply share why you love being a counselor. I’ll be sharing these clips during upcoming episodes.

If you’re looking for a fun way to connect with other counselors in a supportive community full of resources, join IMPACT, my school counselor membership! Each month you’ll receive monthly curriculum plans, ready-to-download resources, and video implementation guides.

You’ll have everything you need to best support your students and make your counseling life just a little bit easier. Plus I deliver quarterly live professional development trainings. We also have a fun and active Facebook group where we all hang out and collaborate and do fun giveaways. We’d love to have you join!

Some topics covered in this episode are:
