Bullying Prevention Board Game - School Counseling Game with Digital Version
Grades 1-5
This digital resource is available to download immediately after purchase.
The Bullying Prevention Board Game helps students understand what bullying looks like, who is involved and how to respond when they see it. Picture spaces on the board lead players to discussion questions, role plays and examples of hurtful behavior, so each turn becomes a short, focused lesson.
A printable game and a digital version are included. This anti-bullying game is suited to classroom guidance lessons and small groups, and it is designed for students in grades 1-5.
Students will learn how to:
⭐ Distinguish teasing from bullying
⭐ Identify the roles in a bullying situation: bully, target, bystander and up-stander
⭐ Discuss times they have seen, experienced or taken part in bullying
⭐ Recognize hurtful behavior, both in person and online
⭐ Identify steps they and their school can take to stop bullying
This resource includes:
✔ Printable game board with a winding START to FINISH path
✔ 24 game cards in three categories, 8 of each
✔ Student game directions (one die needed)
✔ Teacher/counselor's guide with discussion tips and an up-stander video link
✔ Digital version that can be copied from a link, edited and shared with students
How it works:
What Do You Think?
Discussion cards ask students to describe a time they were bullied, acted as a bully, stood by or stood up for someone, and to explain what they would say to a person who bullies others.
Role Play
The player selects two classmates and acts out a bullying scenario with assigned roles: bully, target and bystander or up-stander. Completing the role play moves the player forward two spaces.
Don't Be a Bully
These cards describe hurtful behaviors, such as laughing when someone is picked on, spreading a rumor or posting unkind comments on Instagram. Landing on one moves the player back four spaces.
Why you'll love this game:
⭐ Low prep: print the board, cut the cards and add one die
⭐ Suited to guidance lessons, small groups and Bullying Prevention Month in October
⭐ Role play cards give students practice responding, in addition to discussion
⭐ The guide recommends rotating roles so no student always plays the bully
Bullying prevention games provide a structured, low-pressure setting for students to practice speaking up. Rehearsing these situations during a game prepares students to respond when bullying happens.
Pairs well with:
